BLOOMINGTON GIRL SCOUTS
Nine Mile Service Unit

Thanks to our Volunteers
Whether this is your first year or your 31st year of Girl Scouting, you are making a difference in a girl's life. We appreciate your attending the meetings, participating in service unit events, and helping plan and leading events for all Bloomington girl scouts. Thank you!

All meetings are currently scheduled for 7 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church on the second Monday of the month.

Reminders

  • Thank you, volunteers, for making a difference! A recent survey by GSUSA shows that Girl Scout alums have greater self-esteem, more education, and earn higher salaries overall than women who were never in Girl Scouts. Volunteers, thanks again for all your hard work. You DO make a difference! Click here to read more about this survey.

  • Pixie Valley on May 19; Pre-Meeting on May 17. In past years, stations at Pixie Valley have been run by older Girl Scouts. Due on-going school conflicts, we are also asking adult volunteers to help lead activities this year. Girl Scout leaders of any age troop (including those too old for Pixie), parents, grandparents, neighbors... we'll gladly take anyone who's willing to help from 9-4:30 that day. There will be a quick meeting for these adult volunteers on May 17. Questions? Call Angie at 952-831-8588. Thank you!!!

  • Volunteers Wanted for Bloomington Day Camp! Camp Dates are June 11-15, 2012 and this year's theme is Cooking Up Friendships. Click here for registrations and more information. Girls that are signing up to be girl leaders need to use the same online registration. Girl leaders must complete Program Aide training prior to camp, this training is not provided or arranged by day camp staff.

  • Centennial Day of Service. We desperately need a large group of volunteers to help with this event. A large group of volunteers means smaller time commitments from each. Please considering volunteering if you have not previously been involved in a service unit event. We have an urgent and immediate need of volunteers that are able to make calls this day. Please contact Stephanie, Deb or Robbi if you are interested. Email resources@girlscouts9mile.org or call 952-831-1987.

  • Spring Registrations for 2012-2013: It's time to re-register your troop for fall! Pre-registration gives both your Council and your troop a running start at fall activities. In return, pre-registrations receive a free badge and first dibs on "registered-girls only" fall events.
You must do a paper registration form if using cookie credits or Girl Grants for the registration fee. (Sorry, new girls still need to be registered on paper). Click here to get started.
Please register your troop cookie manager early, this gets them in the eBudde system automatically and they will receive cookie communications. Email if you have questions.

There's so much more to tell! Check our Event Calendar and Meeting Minutes for details.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Many hands make light work! Our goal this year is to recruit one adult from each troop to fulfill a task in the Nine Mile Service Unit. Most jobs require 2-3 hours of service at a particular point in the year.

Please work as a troop to help us meet this goal!
